A collaborative project with friend and fellow designer Trevor Brinkman. The brief was to generate concepts for a new accessory for the Dutch child seat manufacturer Yepp. After spending time in the Dutch capital we wanted to explore ideas that reflected the more casual approach to both cycling and bicycle culture. This led us to ‘do-away’ with the serious performance aesthetic commonly associated with the bike lights and instead focused on more playful forms and product interactions. The concept was cantered around a malleable dome housing that deformed to both activate the light and to create a unique glowing effect.
